Our Oakley location is a hidden treasure in the Wasatch Mountains. While the amenities of shopping, dining, skiing, museums and film offered in Park City are only 20 minutes away, we couple those conveniences with the beautiful ranch lifestyle of the country – something that our residents value and protect. Out here in the Kamas Valley, there are no multi-lane highways, no obtrusive light or air pollution, and no large outlet malls. Instead, we have a large network of hiking and riding trails, easy access to National Parks, and one of the country’s finest rodeos.

Oakley was first explored around 1850 and incorporated in 1933. Our high mountain valley enjoys 6500 feet in elevation with the beautiful Weber River flowing through town.

Here are some of the activities and events Maple Ridge Ranches residents enjoy, from sports to museums to film, visual arts, food and music.

Sundance Film Festival – A January Tradition in Park City and Beyond

2017-sundance-film-festivalThe 10-day festival brings more than 40,000 people to Park City, Utah each January to celebrate the work of independent storytellers in film. Sundance has been a premier world festival and the leading United States film festival for some time; founded by Robert Redford in 1978, and relocating to Park City in 1985, it has introduced us to ground breaking films including Napoleon Dynamite, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Reservoir Dogs, The Cove, An Inconvenient Truth, Little Miss Sunshine, Precious and Trouble the Water.

Often you get to see and hear the casts, directors and producers at the Q&A after the film and catch them around town, as well. Thousands of films are screened in 13 venues throughout town. In addition there are a number of music cafes and presentations during the festival. January 19-29, 2017, in Park City, Salt Lake City, Sundance, and other Utah locations.

The film guide is available online in December. Buy tickets to Sundance online.
